THE STREAMLINE SHAPE

In Garage Italia Milano the two large disproportionate canopies make one imagine that the building could take flight and remain in the air, defining its very essence as well as highlighting its strong communicative capacity.

Much of the iconography of those times is characterized by the massive, flowing forms of elongated volumes shaped by wind and aerodynamics.

The industrial design “Streamline” is the style of speed and power of technology.

Born in the 1920s in the United States as an evolution of Art Deco it is characterized by a very decorative, but simplified, dry and essential style.

In Italy in the 1950s many buildings and furnishings were influenced by this style especially during the post-World War reconstruction because it represented positivity, optimism and celebrated the great advances in science and industry.

GEOLOCALIZATION

Garage Italia Milano is placed in emerging design district near to the American Consulate and just 15 minutes from Milan Central Station and 3 km from “Arco della Pace” and “Parco Sempione”.
